Research and verification
How we find agencies
We start from real search behavior — what someone actually types when looking for a hospital website partner, a dental marketing agency, or a telehealth design team — and identify firms that show up with genuine, repeated work in that specific category. We don’t work from submitted lists or paid inclusion requests.
How we verify facts
Every claim in a listing — founding year, named clients, case-study results — is checked against the agency’s own site or another independently verifiable source, not a directory profile or a self-submitted bio. Where a fact couldn’t be verified, we either dropped it or noted the uncertainty rather than publishing an unconfirmed number.
Where an agency has rebranded or changed its name, we use the current name and note the history rather than publishing outdated information.
What we look for
Category-specific depth
Not healthcare as one line among a dozen industries. A firm with one healthcare project in an otherwise unrelated portfolio doesn’t qualify the same way a firm with a genuine, repeated practice does.
Evidence of outcomes
Not just visual polish — named results, case studies with real numbers, client testimonials that describe a specific project rather than generic praise.
Fit signals
A listing should tell you not just who an agency is right for, but who it’s a poor fit for. That’s why every entry carries both a “right fit” and a “wrong fit” note.
What disqualifies an agency
We can’t independently verify genuine, named work in the specific category the page covers.
The primary business is marketing or PR with design as a minor, secondary offering, on a page specifically about design work.
The only reason to include them would be that they submitted themselves for consideration.
Independence and upkeep
Independence
We don’t accept payment for placement, and no agency can pay to improve its position or be added to a list. Rankings change only when an agency’s public work changes — a new case study, a rebrand, a shift in focus — not on a schedule or in exchange for a fee.
How often this changes
Agency websites change, teams move on, and case studies get taken down or updated. We revisit listings periodically and correct anything that’s gone stale. If you spot something out of date, see the contact page — we’d rather fix it than leave it.
